(1) All types of democratic efforts will be taken up in hand to enlist Kalita tribe in the list of Scheduled Tribes under the Article 342 of the Constitution with the aim to get all the benefits of the Sixth Schedule of the Constitution, which is prepared on the basis of Article 244 (2) and 275 (1) of the Indian Constitution.
(2) Another aim of the Kalita Janagosthi Sanmilan, Assam is to solve all the problems faced by the Kalita Community and to make the tribe self developed and self-respected and to get benefits and honor from the nation by democratic means.
(3) Though the Kalitas of Assam are the ancient most inhabitants of India yet, it is observed that after independence the reservation policies of the Constitution have obstructed to a large extent, to keep intact the self-development and self-identity of the tribe. Therefore, the main objectives of Kalita Janagosthi Sanmilan, Assam is to protect and preserve the Land Right, Political Right, Socio-Economic Right, Right of Religion and Cultural Heritage of the Kalita Community.
